In Cold Blood Test – Thursday

Posted in General on 20.09.08

Incoldblood Our test on In Cold Blood will be on Thursday. To prepare for the test, make sure you have read the book thoroughly and that you remember the main characters and what they do. The test will require you to match 40 possible characters to their actions in the book or to quotations from the book. The test will include 70 matching questions (Scantron) and one essay question.

For example, if I ask you who told his boss on the Sunday after the murders that a couple of rough-looking customers had come to the gas station the previous night, you must be able to provide James Spor’s name.

Advice

1 – Find a friend or friends and start making a list of characters and then identify them. Make a list (or at least review) important quotations. If you wrote character names in the margins of your book as I suggested when we first started reading, this part will be a breeze.

2 – After you have finished reading the book, read the book quickly a second time just by flipping through the book and re-reading the parts you have highlighted/underlined and by reading your notes in the margins.

3 – The test is not that difficult if you read the book thoroughly. If you read and understood the book, you could probably make a high "C" or low "B" on the test without reviewing anything. If you want to make a higher grade (and I hope you do), you will need to study.
