I hope to see you at Open House tonight (5:00 – 7:00). If you are unable to attend, here's the handout I am distributing to parents.
Please take a look at this exciting program and consider applying.
Please remember to bring your money for the AP exams on Monday. I will also continue selling EasyWriters.
Don't forget that your This I Believe paper is due on Wednesday. Please bring a copy to class and also submit the paper to Turnitin.com. To read other examples of papers, please see the NPR website.
Please download this template to use for each précis you write during the semester. Remember to change the template to include your name and then save it as a blank template on your computer.
Don't forget to submit your paper to Turnitin.com
Although letters are due next Friday, I will take them and duplicate them for students as soon as you complete it. I am attaching the assignment and my letter below for those of you who have forgotten what to do. Remember to attach a photo to the letter so we can learn names. Submit your letter to Turnitin.com. You do not need to give me a copy in class. I'll print them from Turnitin.com. Thanks!
I am looking forward to meeting all of you! I hope you will enjoy
the course as you also improve your reading and writing skills
throughout the semester. While AP English requires a great deal of
work, after you have completed the course, you will be well prepared
for the AP exam in May as well as for college English. In fact, 83% of
the 118 students who took the AP English Language exam last year made a
3 or higher on the AP exam. For many colleges this score is high enough
to exempt the first college English class!
The First Night's Homework Assignment is listed below.
