Kiplinger’s 100 Best College Values

Posted in General on 13.10.08

Investingcover
Instead of attending a school out of state or a private college next year, you really ought to look at the great educational values found right here in Georgia. Are those out-of-state schools and private schools so much better . . . so much better that you are willing to accumulate scores of thousands of dollars of debt?

The Winter edition of Kiplinger’s Success with Your Money evaluated 500 public colleges and universities by looking at academic quality, teacher-student ratio, graduation rates, and costs in order to discover the best schools in the nation. What did they find?

Ranked 7th in the nation = The University of Georgia
Ranked 12th in the nation = Georgia Tech
Ranked 83rd in the nation = Georgia College and University

Take a look at the full list:

Topic of the Week 8: Careful – Your Facebook is Showing

Posted in General on 05.10.08

The
fact that we are having online class discussions and students are allowed to participate through Facebook indicates
just how popular Facebook has become. College admissions officers,
however, are also taking a look at Facebook pages.

For this
week’s topic, please read the following article and respond in
approximately 300 words. Make sure you return to the blog later and
comment on the ideas of at least one other student.
